New Custom - NJO Jedi Master Corran Horn

Today's new custom is none other than Jedi Master Corran Horn from the New Jedi Order EU novels! One thing about this particular character is that he is one of the few Star Wars characters that lacks a consistent look in all of the reference art out there. Sometimes he has red hair, sometimes he has black, goat tee, no goat tee, you get the point. Even some of the "real life" promo pictures from Lucasfilm have a completely different look on him as well. In one of those shots that I am referencing to the actor portraying him actually resembles Q from Star Trek the Next Generation. Ah, so many looks, so little consistency. So what does the "real" Corran Horn look like?

Hasbro finally released an official Corran Horn figure last year as part of the Wal-Mart Droid Factory 2 assortment that will hopefully help settle this problem. Since it came from Hasbro, Lucasfilm would have had to approve the head sculpt on this figure. I would go as far to say that this figures face is the official look of the character. When I recently came across this below shot of him as a Jedi Master I was really inspired to make a new custom figure of him!

I really love the look of Corran here, kudos to the artist who painted that image! He looks similar to the Hasbro face sculpt and also has an Aragorn-ish quality to him. I went to town on making a new figure of this version and I am very pleased with the outcome, hopefully you are too. I used the official Corran Horn head then sculpted the facial hair and attached a small top notch to match the look of the above image. Take a look at the end result:
